The League of Sorceresses: Illustrated
If you haven’t started reading the first book in the series, The Reckless Assassin, you might want to avoid spoilers I mention in this post.
One organization that the adventurers learn about is the League of Sorceresses, a wide-ranging group of magic-wielding women who are trying to maintain the balance of power across the world.
However, even those with the best intentions can have major disagreements and that is something that winds up creating a schism in the group. Some like Lady Kiera Windfall will find themselves facing uncertainty and doubt as world events cause everyone to reconsider where they stand.
Following previous posts, I will use DALL-E 2 to generate images depicting major characters in the League of Sorceresses to give you a better idea of each of the characters mentioned in the novel.
Lady Kiera Windfall
Kiera is the youngest members of the league yet her royal position grants her more status than she is familiar with. She quickly befriends Prince Edric Brightmane, but is reluctant to offer what little expertise she has. She has a deep connection to her hawk, Gawain.
Lady Corenna Aspen
Lady Corenna is a renowned herbalist of House Aspen in the Goldenwood. Frequently accompanied by Annik, a raccoon, the two spend much of their time in the woods. She has a quiet confidence but doesn’t often share her thoughts with others.
Arienne de Sauveterre
Lady Arienne founded the league several years before as she began to notice connections between world events. The more she pulled on the string, the more she realized she needed like-minded allies from around the realm to stop the encroaching darkness. She is much older than she looks.
Vanya Vanadessë
Vanya is the court mage to King Faldir in Westronil. Specializing in radiant magic, she has gained a reputation for grace and generosity. However, in private disputes she is strongly opinionated and does not rest in the face of injustice.
Faridah El-Ghazzawy
While Faridah spends time consulting with the league, her main role is leading a group of freedom fighters in Karadria against the tyrannical rule of the sultanate. Her expertise is in poisons and antidotes, using both without remorse in pursuit of her goals.
Tasim Bousaid
Tasim is regarded highly as a famed alchemist in the Free City of Zamek. She is proud of her wealth and has built a network of merchants who travel and trade throughout the nations of Karadria.
Nura Light-Bringer
Nura is the daughter of Belrand Lightbringer, the Grandmaster of the Order of the Flaming Axe. However, when her witchcraft was revealed her father ordered her to be burned at the stake. Her death pained everyone in the league, while reaffirming their need to unravel the growing conspiracies.
