September thoughts and autumn tunes
This is the first official update on this newsletter. Welcome! I’ve been busy these past few weeks with all of the bureaucratic aspects of publishing: proofreading, cover design, formatting, and the rest. I’m really quite excited to share with you what I’ve been doing.
I put in a lot of time to create this map and the others. I feel quite happy with how they’ve come out. It feels thrilling to see the kingdoms and towns I spent months writing about come alive.
Fall is perhaps my favorite season. It’s a time of noticeable change. You crunch the colorful leaves as you walk through the park and you feel a slight chill in the air.
Whenever I write I listen to music. I find it helps to put me in the right mood, whatever that may be for the story. My outlines will occasionally include links to specific songs or playlists that I’ll use to make me empathize more with the characters.
I often go for Autumnal Introspective, which I’ve slowly added to over the years. It has the right amount of “chill in the air” that goes into my writing. If you have Spotify you can listen to it yourself and get a glimpse of what to expect in my first release.
