1-Line Wednesday | May 8

Amidst all of the shards of wood Tawney found something large. She grew excited and rushed towards it. Yet as she grew closer it became obvious that it was not some hidden treasure, but a human body. The body had its back to her, so it wasn't immediately clear who it was.

She leaped over the body and turned around. There he was, a young man perhaps around her age. His face was as dark as the wood around him. She knelt down to his head, touching it briefly and resting her face under his nose. Was he alive? There was air, but it was faint.

This was it. As if a prophet told her, she realized immediately that she had to be the one to take care of this man.

After a big storm, a man washes on the shore of this small island. Tawney feels a sense of responsibility for this stranger. Who is he? A danger? A hero? He is in bad condition, so it may take a while before he is able to awaken.
