“Still moving forward?” Rhaegon asked.
“Yes,” the king decided confidently.
Julius swallowed and continued. While it may have seemed naive, he was hoping that they would have the advantage of surprise. Rather, they now seemed to be the ones caught off-guard.
“Look out ahead!” Dax called out, grabbing his bow.
Living skeletons were coming out of the ground. Boney hands appeared out of small dints in the earth. Skulls popped out and spun around in circles as they pulled themselves out. They were small in stature, only rising to the level of their waists.
More alarming were the weapons in their possession. Some held them in their hands as they climbed upwards. Others had the sword, ax, or morning star stashed inside their skeleton.
As the king follows closely behind these adventurers in the depths of tunnels below the Green Mountains, they are suddenly assaulted by skeletons in all directions. How do they get out of this crisis, and who is the one who raised the skeletons? More tension will build up as you read The Forgotten Hero.
