"Clear!" echoed a voice down the canyon.

"What was that?" Inchfield asked.

"It wasn't us," Titus answered with a shrug.

Suddenly the air began to smell different, almost dry or stale. The hairs on the back of Val's neck stood up.

Immediately he saw a large bolt of lightning shoot down the canyon over their heads. It traveled too quickly for them to react, but he could clearly see how much power it had. Seconds after they could hear a massive boom which caused his ears to ring.

The Sparrowhawk adventurers are traveling with Lord Inchfield through a canyon and don’t see anyone until suddenly they find themselves in a dangerous situation.
