“Stab wound a while back got infected. My toes had to be removed,” explained Umair. “It hurt. It hurt really bad. But I managed to find a way to deal with the pain.”

“What exactly did you do?” Aaron inquired.

“It’s an herb called gariig. You mix it in a broth and then inject it intravenously.”

“Isn’t that stuff highly illegal, and toxic?”

“That’s why he looks so ugly,” Emily said in a sarcastic tone.

“Hey, I was always ugly,” Umair joked
